    That rat is a hero. But it's a shame such a noble critter should have to risk its life even in so noble a pursuit. It seems there are no shortage of Republicans to use for such endeavors, though admittedly it would take longer to train them.

    I understand that the rats are about half the weight required to set off a mine, even though they're the really big Gambian pouched rats. She's probably a lot safer than the average rat. And gets more bananas.
